Characteristics: Perennial herb forming dense tufts. Stems prostrate and hairy, woody at the base. Basal leaves in rosette, petiolate, hairy and rounded; cauline leaves alternate, sessile and smaller. Flowers with bluish, bell-shaped corolla (5-25 mm), arranged in terminal inflorescences. Calyx with lobes bent outward between the teeth. Fruit a capsule that opens through lateral pores.
